About Us
Who we are
The VRRA is the Community Consultative Body (CCB) recognized by Shoalhaven City Council as the forum which represents issues and concerns for the community of Vincentia and Baywood.
Our primary role is to promote and protect the interests and well-being of local ratepayers and residents, and to preserve the unique natural environment and local heritage that make our villages such a special play to live, work and visit.
We consult with residents on the development of appropriate facilities and infrastructure and campaign on behalf of the community on key issues that impact us all. We also host community events and share information on matters of local interest.
The VRRA holds at least three general community meetings per year, with additional meetings called when significant issues emerge that require community discussion and input. We also communicate regularly with our membership through General Meetings, our website, email newsletters and Facebook. Please click on the Join US tab and follow the prompts to join the VRRA and subscribe to our newsletter HERE if you would like to stay up to date.

Shoalhaven Community Consultative Bodies
The Shoalhaven environment is recognised as one of the most beautiful, yet sensitive, in the State. Consequently, the Council and the community are faced with the challenging responsibility of accommodating an acceptable and sustainable level of growth while protecting the inherent natural qualities of our area. This involves sound decision-making. There are 49 towns and villages in the City of Shoalhaven, and there is a range of characteristics unique to every centre of population. This diversity creates a need for the Council to consult with the community on a wide range of issues. Community consultation is an essential component of responsible decision-making. One means by which the Council is committed to consulting with the community is through a two-way communication process with organisations recognised by the Council as Community Consultative Bodies. A Community Consultative Body (CCB) is an organisation which:
a) Has geographic boundaries covering an area with a common interest (i.e. a community of interest)
b) Has the general support and confidence of the local community to, disseminate information, facilitate discussion, and communicate collective views of the community to Council.
c) Seeks to represent the residents and ratepayers within the CCB area.
d) Complies with the adopted ‘Guidelines for the Conduct of Community Consultative Bodies’.
e) Is formally recognised by Council as a CCB
