Community Strategic Plan
A Call Out to the Community
“Because We are Stronger Together”
By accepting and presenting a diversity of passions and pride in our community led planning
By considering the place, the people and the economic costs and benefits that can be delivered
By embracing, understanding and respecting each other’s values
By engaging in a diversity of conversation and outcomes free of political aspiration for the good of Vincentia
The VRRA is initiating the process of developing a Community Strategic Plan (CSP) for Vincentia.
Community Strategic Plans sit at the top of Council’s planning strategy and whilst Council are required by the Local Government Act to develop a CSP, they will do so based on Community input and needs for the whole of the Shoalhaven region.
A local CSP however will focus on the vision, planning and requirements that are important to Vincentia with a long term outlook of at least 10 years. Already neighbouring areas to Vincentia have developed their own CSP and consequently have positioned themselves to better take advantage of funding or grant opportunities as they arise. Vincentia needs to do the same.
Vincentia is changing. The population is growing and each year more and more tourists are visiting our area. A CSP will help us prepare for such changes, ensure the correct balance of commercial and community needs, protect the assets that we value in our community, maintain sustainability and to cope with the pressures that will inevitably result.
We are reaching out to the Community to help us with this important project. . It is important to note from the outset that this will not necessarily be a VRRA led project. Instead, we envisage the formation of a new Committee which will be an unaffiliated independent body whose purpose will be to formulate the vision, represent the interests of Vincentia and to lead and manage the creation of a CSP.
If this sounds interesting to you and you would like to get involved, we would love to hear from you.
